What are the manifestations of head and neck tumors?

The anatomy of head and neck is complex and the tissues and organs are dense. Therefore, it is necessary to pay extra attention to some abnormal signals in daily life and seek timely medical consultation so as to get early treatment. For example, the occurrence of unexplained smell disorder, nasal bleeding, especially early morning aspirated blood sputum, nasal ventilation difficulties, facial numbness, etc. should be considered for the occurrence of nasopharyngeal, nasal cavity and sinus tumors. In case of hoarseness, obstruction in swallowing and dyspnea, tumors of thyroid gland, larynx or cervical esophagus should be considered. Hearing impairment, blood-type discharge from the external ear canal, facial numbness, and distortion of the mouth and eyes should be ruled out when middle ear tumors and salivary gland tumors occur. The occurrence of oral tumor should be considered when there are long-term non-healing ulcers, new mucosal swellings, mucosal color changes and restricted mouth opening in the oral cavity. Unexplained lumps, ulcers, skin crusting, flaking and color changes on the skin of face and scalp should be considered as skin cancer or malignant melanoma. Asymmetries or bulges and lumps in the neck are easy to find, and different tumors may occur in different parts of the body. Therefore, when washing the face, brushing teeth and putting on makeup, you should pay more attention to your head and neck to achieve early detection, early diagnosis and early treatment.
