Difference between secondary and primary hypertension

The difference between secondary hypertension and essential hypertension mainly lies in the etiology, performance and treatment.
1. Etiology: The causes of primary hypertension are multifactorial, mainly including genetic and environmental factors, which are related to diet, smoking, mental stress, etc. Secondary hypertension is caused by a certain disease, such as renal artery stenosis, pheochromocytoma, etc., resulting in increased blood pressure. Secondary hypertension is caused by a certain disease, such as renal artery stenosis, pheochromocytoma and so on.
2. Performance: Primary hypertension often starts slowly and has no special clinical manifestations. Common symptoms include dizziness, headache, fatigue and palpitation. Secondary hypertension is often characterized by persistent hypertension, accompanied by symptoms of primary diseases. For example, pheochromocytoma may have paroxysmal hypertension with tachycardia and other symptoms.
3. Treatment: primary hypertension: its treatment is mainly general treatment and drug treatment. General treatment is mainly weight control, diet regulation and other therapeutic lifestyle interventions. Commonly used antihypertensive drugs include hydrochlorothiazide, amlodipine and so on. Secondary hypertension: the main treatment is to carry out the cause of the disease. For example, pheochromocytoma can be surgically removed.
If the blood pressure is found to be elevated, it is recommended to consult a doctor in time and standardize the diagnosis and treatment. The use of specific drugs should be under the guidance of doctors.
