What’s wrong with pimples around the lips and chin?

Pimples around the lips and chin are considered to be the most likely cause of acne. The cause of the disease is not known, but it may be due to over-secretion of sebaceous glands, hyperkeratosis of sebaceous gland openings of hair follicles, and infection by Propionibacterium acnes.
1. Excessive sebaceous gland secretion: Excessive androgen levels in the body under a genetic background, or a high-fat diet or frequent late-night stays can lead to excessive sebaceous gland secretion, which is a prerequisite and a key factor in the development of acne.
2. Hyperkeratosis of follicular sebaceous gland openings: When the cells at the openings of the follicular sebaceous gland ducts are hyperkeratotic, the openings of the sebaceous gland ducts are narrowed, reduced in size or even clogged, which affects the normal expulsion of sebum and shed epithelium, resulting in the appearance of acne around the mouth and chin.
3. Propionibacterium acnes infection: With the development of the disease, a large amount of lipid aggregation leads to the further proliferation of lipophilic and anaerobic Propionibacterium acnes, causing inflammatory reactions in the follicular sebaceous glands and their surrounding tissues, leading to the occurrence of the disease and the appearance of acne around the mouth and chin.
It is recommended that patients with acne around the lips and chin go to a regular hospital in time and cooperate with the doctor for standardized treatment to alleviate the uncomfortable symptoms.
