To the closed treatment, the patient’s two most common misconceptions: one is completely unacceptable, almost talking about the tiger, the reason is mainly because the side effects are large, more, especially to use hormones. The second is, no matter what the disease, directly ask the doctor “closed”, or even the nurse “closed”. These are wrong. The correct attitude toward closed treatment is: when it should be used. After determining the diagnosis and treatment plan, follow the conventional dose and course of treatment, the standard operation. This can give full play to the advantages of closed treatment, there can be minimized side effects and risks. Here we introduce a case of abuse of closed treatment: a patient who came to the pain department from abroad years ago, male, 45 years old. He complained of “generalized pain, joint pain and bone pain for 2 years. Cough and fever for 3 months”, more than 40 injections of “closure” in the last year in the local area! The pain was relieved for a few days for a week or so with each injection. After examination, he was found to have rheumatoid arthritis, severe osteoporosis, and cavitary tuberculosis in both lungs. It is presumed that rheumatoid arthritis may be the initial disease, severe osteoporosis, double lung cavitation tuberculosis is a long-term repeated closure, the side effects of high doses of hormones! Therefore, doctors and patients should work together to handle closure therapy properly, especially not to abuse it.
