How to see if the adenoids are enlarged

Enlarged adenoids, i.e. adenoid hypertrophy, can be detected through clinical manifestations and auxiliary examinations.
1. Clinical manifestations: adenoid hypertrophy can cause ear, nose, throat and larynx symptoms, such as hearing loss, tinnitus; nasal congestion and runny nose, occlusive rhinorrhea, snoring during sleep, open-mouth breathing; paroxysmal cough. In some cases, it affects the development of facial bones, with the appearance of adenoid face such as maxillary bone lengthening, high arched palate, irregular teeth, thick lips, lack of expression, and so on.
2. Auxiliary examination: fiber (electronic) nasopharyngoscopy can see hypertrophied adenoids; polysomnography can see different degrees of sleep apnea or hypoventilation; nasopharyngeal lateral film, nasopharyngeal CT, MRI scanning can determine the size of adenoids.
If you find similar symptoms of adenoid hypertrophy, it is recommended to consult a doctor in time and take targeted treatment measures under the guidance of the doctor.
