Both ca199 and ca125 are tumor markers. Patients with chocolate cysts can have their ca125 and ca199 lowered surgically. Ovarian endometriosis is typically characterized by chocolate cysts with elevated serum levels of ca125 and ca199, which can be reduced by surgical treatment of endometriosis. Surgery can be performed for fertility preservation in patients with fertility requirements, and for ovarian preservation or radical surgery in patients without fertility requirements. Since chocolate cysts can repeatedly break and bleed causing adhesions in the surrounding tissues and affecting the patient’s reproductive function, it is recommended that standardized treatment be carried out in a timely manner to minimize the adverse effects on the body when ovarian-type endometriosis chocolate cysts are present.
