Early symptoms of tonsil cancer usually have no obvious symptoms, and some patients may have the symptoms of foreign body sensation in the pharynx and pain in swallowing. Early symptoms of tonsil cancer are pharyngeal discomfort, foreign body sensation, pharyngeal pain on one side, which is more obvious when swallowing, and most of the patients do not pay attention to it. In the late stage, pharyngeal pain intensifies, causing reflexive earache on the same side, difficulty in swallowing, slurred speech, difficulty in breathing and so on. A few patients with lymphoma may show bilateral tonsil involvement. With the progression of the disease, there is a worsening of pain, and in severe cases, there is pain in swallowing, which radiates to the ipsilateral ear or face, and there are symptoms such as bad taste in the mouth, restricted mouth opening and pain in opening the mouth. In adults, unilateral enlarged tonsils with ulcerated surface, hard texture and inactivity, accompanied by enlarged submandibular lymph nodes on the same side, are easier to diagnose. However, if one side of the tonsil is enlarged, congested, and the surface is smooth, it is easy to be misdiagnosed as acute tonsillitis, and should be especially alert, and if necessary, biopsy should be sent to pathology to confirm the diagnosis. Patients with the above symptoms, should be vigilant, should go to the regular hospital as soon as possible, early detection and early treatment. At the same time, we should pay attention to oral hygiene to prevent secondary infection.
