Rainy and cloudy days usually have no effect on heart stents.
A cardiac stent is very small, about 2 to 4 millimeters in diameter and usually only a few centimeters in length, and is a hollow, cylindrical, mesh-shaped metal tube, usually made of titanium alloy. Because it is so small and is wrapped in the endothelium of the blood vessels after implantation, it is largely unaffected by the outside world, and rain and cloudy weather usually have no effect on it.
However, for coronary heart disease patients with stent implantation, since their own heart function is poorer than that of healthy people, they may be affected by cold air or frightened by thunder in rainy and cloudy weather, which may lead to sudden cardiovascular accidents, but this is generally unrelated to cardiac stents.
For coronary heart disease patients with stent implantation should follow the doctor’s instructions to adhere to the medication, change the bad habits, quit smoking and drinking, ensure sufficient sleep, avoid exertion, if there are high risk factors such as diabetes mellitus, hypertension, hyperlipidemia and so on, in order to avoid re-blockage in the stent.
If patients have uncomfortable symptoms such as chest pain, palpitation, etc., they should go to the hospital in time and follow the doctor’s instructions for active treatment.
