2 What types of hernia are there?
A: There are several types of hernias, including inguinal hernia, umbilical hernia and incisional hernia, which occur in the inguinal region. Inguinal hernia is also divided into inguinal hernia and inguinal hernia, with hernia being the most common in middle-aged and elderly patients.
3 What are the causes of hernias?
A: The main causes of hernias are.
(1) congenital weakness of the abdominal wall.
(2) Increased intra-abdominal pressure: chronic cough, constipation, prostatic hypertrophy, frequent intense exercise
(3) other causes such as surgery, trauma and other causes of abdominal wall defects or local tension reduction.
4 What is the incidence of hernia?
Hernia is a very common disease, and according to statistics, its incidence is about 2% – 4%. It is mostly seen in infants and middle-aged and elderly people, and the incidence of hernias is significantly higher in men than in women.
5 What are the clinical manifestations of hernia?
A: Hernia is mainly manifested as a mass in the abdomen or inguinal region, which is relatively small at the beginning, with no discomfort or only distension and discomfort, the mass can be retracted, obvious when standing, gradually increasing in size, difficult to retract, or even needing to be pushed by hand to retract, and often with indigestion. The hernia may be herniated and may require emergency surgery to release the herniation and repair the hernia.
6 What are the adverse effects of hernia on human body?
A: Hernia can bring obvious physical discomfort to the patient, affecting life, work and exercise, and can cause indigestion, constipation, and even serious consequences such as pain, blood in stool, vomiting, shock, and even life-threatening after the development of intussusception.
