Complex anal fistula (perianal abscess) is a common disease in anorectal surgery (a somewhat painful one), and in its treatment, it is often necessary to place drainage tubes or drainage threads or vascular slings (a good thing, especially recommended by the Department of Anorectal Surgery of Zhongshan Sixth Hospital) in order to smooth the drainage, especially the drainage branches, while reducing surgical trauma (preserving as much normal tissue as possible) and speeding up healing. At a certain level of healing, it is necessary to remove the drains, lines, and vascular slings in due course (except for a very few cases of long-term hanging lines) to prevent the wound from healing. After removal, there is bound to be a residual channel (where the drains, threads, and slings used to pass through), and in order to quickly close this channel and prevent it from becoming infected and causing the wound to not heal, a special treatment is needed – salt pack sitting (a good, quirky, simple, and inexpensive solution). Sitting salt pack is to press the residual channel closed by relatively even pressure, so that its internal tissues fit together to promote wound healing and reduce the purpose of poor healing or recurrence. The specific method is to buy about 1 kilogram of edible salt (in fact, if you do not mind, you can still eat after sitting on the salt pack), cut open the bag (the packaging is generally hard, not suitable for generating uniform pressure), pour the salt into a softer bag (such as plastic bags, film bags), seal the mouth (if you do not want to pickle yourself), which will make a suitable salt pack (in fact, it is not that easy. It’s best to make it the right size, not too loose and flattened when it sits, and not too tight and burst when it sits). Then pile it into the shape of a small mountain, so that the top of the mountain is exactly the location of the channel ready to be pressed (the case of many channels need to be the right shape of the salt packet, but fortunately the salt packet is very strong plasticity), now, the right position to sit down, complete. How long to sit every day? Sit when you have time, this is difficult to unify. How many days do you need to sit? At least a week, it always takes time to grow meat, preferably on Wednesday or Friday morning my clinic has seen that it is okay not to sit until (this is considered advertising?). Finally, there is a reminder, do not sit in the bath during the salt pack, do not flush into the channel, the surface wipe clean enough to prevent water inside the channel. By the way, you can take a shower (a week without a shower, I’m afraid not good).
