A visual acuity of 0.8, which is close to normal vision, requires a refraction to determine myopia. For children under 12 years of age, a refraction is done after the ciliary muscle is paralyzed, and for adolescents over 12 years of age, a rapid refraction is done. A dilated eye exam will give you a more accurate refractive error, which will tell you if you are nearsighted, how much nearsightedness you have, whether it is true myopia or pseudomyopia; whether you have astigmatism; and whether you are farsighted. Pseudomyopia is due to overuse of the eyes, ciliary muscle paralysis after treatment, after sufficient rest, vision can be restored to 1.0. If it is true myopia, hyperopia or there is astigmatism, you should go to the hospital in time to get the right glasses. Pay attention to eye hygiene and develop good eye habits to avoid aggravating vision problems.
