A 6mm ground-glass nodule with blood vessel penetration in the posterior segment of the upper lobe of the right upper lung is not necessarily lung cancer, but may also be caused by inflammation and infection.
1. Inflammatory infection: Inflammatory reaction of lung tissue can be caused by bacterial or viral infection, which can be manifested as ground-glass nodule on CT, and there may be blood vessels penetrating into it.
2. Lung cancer: if the shape of ground-glass nodule is irregular, with burr sign, lobular sign and so on, and there are blood vessels penetrating inside, it is malignant nodule to a large extent, and further examination should be done in time. Definitive diagnosis of lung cancer requires fiberoptic bronchoscopy biopsy, percutaneous puncture lung biopsy or mediastinoscopy biopsy, and pathological examination of tissues is the gold standard for diagnosis of lung cancer.
It is recommended that patients should consult a thoracic surgeon in time to clarify the diagnosis and make further management measures for the nature of the nodule.
