Is Tui Na good for knee pain?

Not many people with knee pain get satisfactory results during repeated hospital visits, and their confidence in curing the disease slowly wears off. Does Tui Na work? Let’s start today with an example. This is a recent patient of mine, an elderly woman with knee pain for 1 year, whose symptoms disappeared completely after only 1 treatment. The following is a self-report of the patient’s condition and treatment. For a year I had very severe pain in both knees and had tried many different treatments to no avail. At the Chinese hospital, my right knee was treated with Tui-Na by Dr. Tan. After an activity (actually an orthopedic procedure), the pain in my right knee disappeared completely. And I have more strength when walking. Two notes: 1. Such a patient is not a typical patient, because for chronic knee pain, most patients can achieve significant improvement or even disappearance of pain within one minute by combining Tui Na with orthopedic treatment. 2. Why did the patient have only one side of the knee treated. At the time of admission, the patient did not request treatment for both knees until March 25, when he expressed relief in both shoulders during a checkup and requested treatment for both knees (see Figure 2 for basic information in the patient’s medical record), and at that time the patient was already facing discharge, with only one treatment opportunity left. And within minutes after the treatment was over, the patient returned to report on the recovery of the right knee. Q: Why is Tui Na Orthopedics so effective for chronic knee pain? A: Orthopedics or sports science recognizes knee bones, muscles, ligaments, and joint fluid separately in a fragmented way, and the treatment is also directed at different tissues, such as injection of joint lubricating fluid like sodium glassate for joints with little synovial fluid secretion, closure of muscle ligaments, joint replacement for bones, etc. However, Tui-Na Ortho-Bone helps to restore the function of soft tissues by regulating the joint alignment through Ortho-Bone and reducing the pressure on the affected soft tissues, thus providing rapid pain relief. Q: What are the conditions that can be treated with Tui Na osteopathy for knee pain? A: Knee pain diagnosed as “strain injury”, “ligament injury”, “osteoarthritis” and “osteoarthrosis”. Symptoms such as vague knee pain, soreness and swelling, inflexible activities, always feel “there is a tendon in the inside of the don’t”, increased activity or exertion when the symptoms are aggravated, after rest to alleviate, some patients also manifested as night sleep knee discomfort, feel “no place to rest, rest anywhere In severe cases, the knee joint pain is obvious, activity is limited, the knee joint may or may not be swollen, and the joint may even be deformed. Patients with knee pain can seek medical advice from a professional massage therapist to avoid unnecessary medication, injections, and even joint replacement surgery.
