People who are breastfeeding can drink astragalus water if they are suffering from qi deficiency and weakness, but they need to follow the doctor’s instructions.
Astragalus has the effect of stopping sweating and consolidating the surface, tonifying qi and promoting yang, reducing swelling and inducing diuresis, nourishing blood and promoting the production of fluids, supporting the toxin and draining pus (discharging pus and poison from the body), moving stagnation and clearing paralysis (making paralyzed meridians open up), and astringing sores and promoting the development of muscle (helping sores to heal more quickly, and promoting the growth of new flesh). It is used for conditions such as qi deficiency, loose stools (thin and unformed feces), and sinking of the middle qi (deficiency of the spleen and stomach qi, which is manifested by the falling of the internal organs).
Breastfeeding people with the above conditions can take astragalus under the guidance of a doctor. Astragalus is usually taken in decoction, and the active ingredients in brewed water are limited and generally do not achieve the therapeutic effect. The adverse effects of Astragalus are not known. It should not be used by people with superficial evil (evil qi on the surface of the muscle), or those with sores and ulcers (skin disorders caused by poisonous evils invading the skin, resulting in stagnation of qi and blood) at the beginning of the disease.
Patients who feel unwell are advised to consult a doctor in time, and should not use the medicine on their own to avoid delaying their condition.
