Efficacy and effects of Clohexine dry suspension

Clohexine dry suspension is a compound preparation containing 250mg of cefaclor and 8mg of bromohexine hydrochloride per sachet, which is mainly used for the treatment of upper and lower respiratory tract infections with thick sputum that cannot be easily coughed up. It is more often used in children, who need to take 20-40mg/kg a day in 3 doses if calculated by body weight. In general, if treating beta-hemolytic streptococcal infections, the course of the drug should last at least 10 days. Possible side effects include symptoms of the gastrointestinal tract, including the development of diarrhea, nausea, dizziness, abdominal pain, or vomiting. When cephalosporins are applied for a long period of time, it may lead to the proliferation of non-susceptible bacteria and the development of gastrointestinal symptoms such as diarrhea and pseudomembranous enteritis.
