What to do when tongue cancer develops lymph node metastasis

Lymph node metastasis of tongue cancer can be treated with surgery, radiotherapy, targeted therapy and immunotherapy. 1. If tongue cancer has lymph node metastasis, it means the condition is relatively serious. If only cervical lymph node metastasis occurs and the patient is relatively healthy, radical cervical lymph node dissection or selective cervical lymph node dissection, resection of lesions and postoperative radiotherapy can be performed. If the patient only has cervical lymph node metastasis, but he/she is not able to tolerate the surgery because of his/her underlying diseases, he/she can also choose radiotherapy and chemotherapy. 2. If tongue cancer has multiple lymph node metastasis, then it is not suitable for surgery, and only palliative radiotherapy can be performed, which can be combined with targeted and immunotherapy if necessary. If tongue cancer has lymph node metastasis, it is recommended to consult doctor in time and carry out individualized treatment under professional doctor’s guidance, so as to prolong the survival and improve the prognosis.
