The hazards (adverse reactions) of chemotherapy for hemangioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma are digestive reactions, bone marrow suppression, impairment of liver and kidney function, and other hazards. 1. Digestive reaction: Because chemotherapeutic drugs kill cancer cells and also harm normal cells, thus interfering with normal gastrointestinal function. Many lymphoma patients will experience nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite and other gastrointestinal discomfort during chemotherapy. 2. Bone marrow inhibition: chemotherapy drugs will cause the decrease of blood cell precursor activity in bone marrow, so that the number of peripheral blood cells will decrease, all of which will lead to the gradual decrease of white blood cells, platelets and other numbers, and finally will lead to the decrease of blood cell numbers even more. 3. Impairment of liver and kidney function: Liver is an important metabolic organ and detoxification organ. During chemotherapy, the burden of liver detoxification function increases, which may cause damage to liver and kidney function. It is suggested that patients should pay attention to eating light and easy-to-digest food during the treatment stage, and not to eat greasy or spicy food.
