The main causes of inverted eyelashes in patients include eyelid trauma or burns, blepharitis, blepharitis, and entropion. Eyelid trauma or burns may cause abnormalities such as scarring of the eyelid or lid margins, causing the eyelashes to grow in an abnormal direction. Inflammation of the eyelid area, such as blepharitis and blepharitis, may also cause the eyelashes to grow in an abnormal direction, resulting in the development of inverted eyelashes. Inverted eyelashes are often seen in patients with entropion because the eyelid turns inward while the eyelashes grow inward. This is commonly seen in children due to compression of the eyelashes by the orbicularis oculi muscle of the skin, and in older adults due to an imbalance in muscle strength caused by laxity of the skin and orbicularis oculi muscle of the eyelid. Eyelid inversion with impingement can also be caused by trachoma scarring. It is recommended that patients with implantation should seek medical attention to evaluate their condition and follow the doctor’s instructions for treatment.
