What to do with a small concave spina bifida in a newborn

Neonatal spina bifida minor concavity is a serious congenital disease. For occult spina bifida without neurological symptoms, no special treatment is needed, but if symptoms such as urinary dysfunction and bilateral lower extremity weakness are found, early surgical treatment is indicated. For spina bifida with no symptoms and intact surface skin, conservative treatment can be chosen. For those with skin ulceration, infection should be controlled and surgery should be performed when the wound is clean or when it is healing.
