Diabetic nephropathy is an irreversible and incurable chronic complication of diabetes mellitus, the survival period of each patient is different, short about 10 years, long 20 years, mainly according to the progression of nephropathy in diabetic patients to decide. Some diabetic patients have combined diabetic nephropathy or reached the stage of renal insufficiency, but because of better control of blood glucose and blood pressure and more regular drug treatment, the nephropathy may be stabilized at this level and not continue to progress, and the survival period of such patients may reach about 20 years. If a diabetic patient is combined with renal pathology, such as renal insufficiency, usually poor control of blood pressure and blood sugar, and irregular treatment, creatinine continues to rise, and soon reaches uremia, requiring dialysis treatment, the survival period of such patients is relatively short, probably about 10 years, and severe patients may be in about 5 years.
