What are the characteristics of auscultation of aortic stenosis

The aortic stenosis auscultation features are as follows: a. A loud, rough, high-pitched, time-limited blowing, jet systolic murmur is heard in the aortic valve auscultation area at the 3rd intercostal space on the left edge of the sternum or the 2nd intercostal space on the right edge of the sternum. The murmur is due to the blood flow through the stenotic aortic valve, producing vortices in the wall of the ascending aortic canal. Second, the murmur appears after the first heart sound, disappears after the second heart sound, and conducts to both carotid and subclavian arteries. As the degree of aortic stenosis increases, the murmur becomes louder and lasts longer. Third, when severe aortic stenosis is accompanied by cardiac insufficiency, the murmur is short and soft.
