How to clean after defecation after perianal abscess surgery

Perianal abscess can be cleaned after defecation by dipping a small towel or small gauze into warm water, local wounds can be cleaned by extracting warm water with a syringe, or sitz baths with 1:5000 potassium permanganate solution, and gently drying the perianal area with a clean towel or gauze after cleaning in order to minimize the risk of postoperative bowel pain and infection.
