Can Gastric Diversion Surgery Cure Diabetes

The procedure of gastric diversion is helpful in the treatment of diabetes, but it does not cure it completely, because diabetes itself is a disease of insufficient insulin secretion that occurs during the use of insulin. So the surgery of gastric diversion can reduce the absorption of food, and from this point of view, it can reduce the amount of glucose absorption in the body. Thus, the decreasing effect is sustained, but the insufficient secretion of insulin in the body tends to make it difficult to use the glucose converted during some stimulation, and from this perspective, the glucose in the body still tends to rise. Therefore, gastric diversion surgery is helpful in treating diabetes, but there is still a risk of increased glucose, and it is not able to cure diabetes completely.
