Biliary lithotripsy is not a clinically preferred surgical procedure due to the high recurrence rate and increased chance of cancer, and cholecystectomy is comparatively better. Biliary lithotripsy is a minimally invasive treatment, which is able to remove the stones in the gallbladder while preserving the integrity of the gallbladder. However, with clinical observation, biliary lithotripsy has a high recurrence rate after surgery and increases the chance of cancer, so biliary lithotripsy is generally not recommended for patients with gallbladder stones. For patients with gallbladder stones, cholecystectomy is currently performed. This surgery is usually performed with the assistance of laparoscopy to cure gallbladder stones. Cholecystectomy is the better of the two. It is recommended that patients with gallbladder stones go to a regular hospital to consult a doctor and choose the appropriate treatment under the doctor’s guidance.
