Can you feel the lymph nodes in your neck with your hands?

In most cases, the superficial lymph nodes in the neck are not easy to reach, but when the patient’s head is slightly tilted to the side and the head is bowed, the superficial lymph nodes can be reached; the deeper lymph nodes cannot be reached by hand on the skin surface. The superficial lymph nodes of the head and neck include pre-auricular lymph nodes, post-auricular lymph nodes, occipital lymph nodes, submandibular lymph nodes, sub-chin lymph nodes, anterior cervical lymph nodes, posterior cervical lymph nodes, and supraclavicular lymph nodes. In general, superficial lymph nodes are not easy to reach, but can be reached when the patient’s head is slightly tilted to one side and the head is bowed. The superficial lymph nodes are soft, smooth, and bulbous with a diameter of about 0.2~0.5cm, and are not adherent to the surrounding tissues. However, when the lymph nodes are enlarged due to various reasons, the enlarged lymph nodes can be clearly touched under the skin.
