After a cat bite, look at the local skin to see if there is damage. If there is no damage, simply giving close observation and local disinfection treatment is fine. If there is local skin damage, even if there is no bleeding, the normal process must be followed. First, the area should be given a local soap and water rinse for at least 30 minutes. After rinsing, the area is treated with local disinfection. Then, the rabies vaccine should be administered according to the normal procedure, usually on days 0, 3, 7, 14, and 28, for a total of five doses of rabies vaccine.
