Can a heart attack cause numbness in the left arm

Heart attack has the possibility of causing numbness in the left arm, but numbness in the left arm is not all caused by heart attack and needs to be distinguished.
When myocardial infarction occurs, the main manifestations are precordial pressure pain, palpitations, shortness of breath, chest tightness, sweating, lower blood pressure and other symptoms, which may be accompanied by radiating pain in the left shoulder and left arm, and a small portion of the people may be accompanied by radiating pain in the left hand and numbness, which may last for a few minutes to ten minutes.
If the numbness of unilateral arm appears suddenly when the pain in precordial area appears, it may be the precursor of myocardial infarction. If there is only the symptom of numbness of the left arm and it is not an acute attack or unilateral, it is mostly considered to be caused by the nerve compression due to cervical spondylosis.
It is recommended that patients with the above symptoms should consult a doctor as soon as possible to clarify the cause of the disease and cooperate with the doctor’s treatment.
