Common drugs that cause drug-related hepatitis

The occurrence of drug-related hepatitis is a result of both patient and physician factors. On the one hand, many patients have poor medical knowledge and use drugs half-understood without doctor’s guidance, and rarely or even do not check liver function, so blind use of drugs can easily lead to liver function damage; on the other hand, some doctors lack knowledge of drug-related hepatitis and do not explain that patients need to closely observe and regularly review liver function in the process of drug use, and fail to guide patients to stop drugs and strengthen liver protection when liver function damage occurs. When liver function damage occurs, patients are not instructed to stop the drugs and strengthen liver protection. According to statistics, there are at least 500-1000 kinds of drugs known to cause liver damage, and anti-tuberculosis drugs are usually considered to be one of the most common drugs. Chemotherapeutic drugs: ampicillin, amoxicillin/potassium clavulanate, cefadroxil, antiseptic, aminotransomide, erythromycin, acetylspiramycin, ketoconazole, tetracycline, chloramphenicol, sulfamethoxazole, ethambutol, furantoin, furazolidone, amphotericin B, 5-fluorouracil, 6-mercaptopurine, antimony potassium tartrate, isoniazid, rifampin (isoniazid and rifampin used together) (isoniazid and rifampin are more likely to cause abnormal liver function than isoniazid alone), minocycline, etc. 2.Antipyretic and anti-inflammatory drugs: Acetylsalicylic acid, acetaminophen, pau taisong, allopurinol, and disulfiram, etc. Some patients have been allergic to the analgesic pethidine, resulting in drug-related hepatitis. 3, central nervous system drugs: halothane, chlorpromazine, phenobarbital, sodium valproate, sodium phenytoin, etc. 4.Hormonal drugs: tosylbutamide, glibenclamide, chlorosulfonylurea, propylthiouracil, danazol, etc. 5.Vitamin and enzyme drugs: vitamin A, niacin, asparaginase, etc. 6.Other drugs: acetazolamide, quinidine, nifedipine, cimetidine, ranitidine, kolaydenamide, etc. 7, Chinese herbal medicines and proprietary Chinese medicines: according to statistics, in recent years, the liver damage caused by Chinese herbal medicines reported 20%-30% of all drug-related liver damage, and the trend is increasing year by year. Single herbal medicines include Leigong Vine, Huang Dou, He Shou Wu, Bambusa, Amusement Clam Powder, Cang Er Zi, Bai Guo, Rhubarb, Ze Di, Huang Yao Zi, Acacia, Wild Lily, Smallpox Powder, Qian Li Guang, Neem, Guan Zhong, Mugwort, Coriander, Chang Shan, Garcinia, etc. Among the proprietary Chinese medicines, Strong Bone and Joint Pills, Anti-nuclear Tablets, Easy Pill, Anti-silver Tablets, Anti-ringworm, Anti-stone Dan, Tianma Pill, Shouwu Tablets, Anti-cough and wheezing, Anluo Pill, Hua Tuo Zai Zai Wan, Da Luo Luo Dan, Xiao Chai Hu Tang, Bai Yue Wan, Kidney and Yi Long Capsules, Compound Qing Dai Wan, Anti-nuclear Tablets, etc. can cause liver damage. 8, liver disease treatment drugs: some antiviral drugs for liver disease (such as interferon) and immunomodulators can also cause drug hepatitis. Some hepatoprotective drugs and enzyme-lowering drugs can also cause drug hepatitis, for example, bifenthix can only reduce ALT, but not improve the pathological changes of the original liver damage, but can aggravate the liver damage, causing AST elevation and jaundice. In addition to the above drugs can cause drug hepatitis, repeated use of hair dyes may also cause drug hepatitis.
