How long can you live if you have liver palms?

How long one can live with the presence of liver palms is mainly related to the primary disease and cannot be generalized. If the patient has no underlying liver disease and normal liver function, liver palpation alone does not affect survival. Liver palm is a physical sign, because the metabolism of estrogen is completed in the liver, when the liver function decreases, the metabolism and inactivation of estrogen becomes impaired and leads to the accumulation of estrogen in the body, which stimulates capillary congestion and dilation, and pink spots or plaques can appear in the size of the palm between the fissures and fingertips, which turn white after pressure is applied and recover after the pressure is removed. Its common in diseases such as hemochromatosis cardiomyopathy, chronic hepatitis B, cirrhosis, hepatopulmonary syndrome, and fulminant liver failure. Therefore, the survival period of liver palms varies in different diseases. Patients with chronic hepatitis B can obtain long-term survival after active treatment, while patients with advanced cirrhosis and hepatopulmonary syndrome and fulminant liver failure have a shorter survival time. Therefore, patients with liver palms should first consider liver disease and should promptly visit the hepatology department for symptomatic treatment after identifying the cause.
