Chronic active hepatitis B is a liver disease caused by infection with the hepatitis B virus, mostly converted from acute active hepatitis B. It belongs to a period of hepatitis B. Patients in this period have more serious liver damage, higher hepatitis B virus replication, and are highly contagious. The transmission route is also more complex, mainly through blood, but also through the placenta and birth canal to the fetus. As the liver is continuously damaged during this period, the liver tissue will be repaired repeatedly, and the liver will easily develop fibrosis of different degrees, which will develop into cirrhosis or even liver cancer in a relatively short period of time without active treatment.
