Glutathione is hepatitis whenever it exceeds the normal test range indicating damage to liver cells. For males, a GLTA above 50 U/L and for females, a GLTA above 40 U/L indicates the occurrence of hepatitis. There are many causes of hepatitis, including viral hepatitis B if it is caused by hepatitis B virus infection, alcoholic hepatitis if it is caused by alcohol, drug-related hepatitis if it is caused by drugs, and autoimmune liver disease. Whenever there is damage to the liver cells, glutathione can be detected in the blood that is higher than the normal range, and glutathione is a very sensitive indicator to screen for hepatitis.
