Double lung nodule shadows are not necessarily lung cancer. Bilateral lung nodules can be categorized into benign and malignant nodules. Lung nodules refer to solid or sub-solid lesions with clear or blurred margins and focal round or round-like shape surrounded by lung tissues with a diameter of ≤3cm, which are manifested by lung diseases in imaging examinations. In addition to lung cancer, chronic inflammation of the lungs, tuberculosis and pulmonary nodular disease can also manifest as bilateral lung nodules. Therefore, the nature of bilateral lung nodules should be analyzed according to the imaging characteristics of the nodules and pathological examination. If the location of the nodule is close to the chest wall or bronchus, and the lesion is large, thoracoscopy or bronchoscopy can be used to improve the pathological examination to further clarify the nature of the nodule. When the nodules in both lungs are small, patients usually have no discomfort, so no special treatment is needed, and regular review can be done. However, if the nodules in both lungs suddenly and rapidly increase in size, and symptoms such as coughing, sputum and hemoptysis appear, patients should consult the doctor for further diagnosis and treatment in order to avoid delaying the condition.
