Efficacy and effects of Fengshi Rizhong Pill

  Fengshi Rizhong Pill is a classic formula in the “Taiping Huimin Hodong Bureau Formula”, and its drug composition includes Fengshi (made), Ginseng, (fried) Atractylodes Macrocephala, Dry Ginger, and Licorice. Its efficacy is to warm the middle of the body and strengthen the spleen, and it is used clinically in Chinese medicine to treat deficiency cold in the spleen and stomach, pain in the epigastrium and abdomen, vomiting, diarrhea and dysentery, and coldness in the extremities [1].  In modern medical clinics [2], Fengshi Rizhong Pill is mainly used to treat digestive system diseases, such as functional dyspepsia, chronic gastritis, diarrhea-type irritable bowel syndrome, chronic colitis, and pediatric diarrhea. In addition, the drug is also used for idiopathic edema, oral ulcer, and intractable eruption.  In recent years, there are also newer clinical applications reported about the Pill, such as gastric and duodenal ulcers, gastric neurosis, various bleeding disorders, rheumatic heart disease, pulmonary heart disease, sinus bradycardia, etc. In addition, it is also effective for pediatric pneumonia, pediatric slow-onset wind and urinary incontinence, acute pancreatitis, diabetes, lumbar muscle strain and some male diseases.
