Some patients also have muscle stiffness and tension. In severe cases, the pain may radiate to the back of the shoulder and arm. The cause of cervical shoulder neuralgia may be cervical spondylosis causing nerve entrapment, or cervical disc herniation compressing the cervical nerves.
