White acetate epithelium of the cervix found during colposcopy indicates a suspicious lesion in the area of the white epithelium. Normal cervical tissue does not turn white under acetic acid staining, but will only appear white if there is a lesion. More commonly, severe cervical erosion or precancerous lesions of the cervix, as well as specific lesions of the cervix, can cause white epithelium. There are also other factors that can cause white epithelium on the cervix, such as having sex or using medications before the cervical colposcopy, which can change the environment of the vagina and cervix and therefore cause abnormal test results. However, the vinegar white epithelium should not be taken care of and it is recommended to take tissue from these areas for pathological examination.
