The simple method of taking Fengmen acupoint is to let the patient take a sitting or prone position, first find the large vertebrae point, the highest elevation of the back of the neck for the 7th cervical vertebrae spinous process, the depression underneath for the large vertebrae point, the large vertebrae point downward 2 vertebrae that is the second thoracic vertebrae, the side of the opening of the 2 transverse fingers, that is, the Fengmen acupoint.
Wind Gate point and the Governor’s vein, also known as the hot house, is the gateway to the wind, belonging to the foot solar bladder meridian. Wind Gate is located under the spinous process of the second thoracic vertebra, 1.5 inches away from the posterior midline.
Its simple method of taking the point is to first find the great vertebrae point. The highest elevation at the back of the neck is the spinous process of the 7th cervical vertebra, and the depression underneath is the large vertebrae point, which is 2 vertebrae down from the second thoracic vertebrae, and 2 transverse fingers to the side, which is the Wind Gate point.
The efficacy of Fengmen point includes dispelling wind and relieving epidemics and collaterals, and can be used to treat cough, fever, headache, and stiffness at the back of the neck.
