What’s the meaning of “Fetal Delivery”?

The fetal position is the relationship between the longitudinal axis of the fetus and the longitudinal axis of the mother’s body.
The mode of delivery determines the mode of labor. When the longitudinal axis of the fetus is parallel to the longitudinal axis of the mother’s body, it is a longitudinal mode of delivery, and only in this case the mother can have a normal delivery at full term, which accounts for about 99% of all deliveries. In longitudinal labor, there is breech presentation and cephalic presentation, and cephalic presentation is the normal mode of delivery.
When the longitudinal axis of the baby’s body is perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the mother’s body, it is called transverse labor, and in transverse labor, the shoulders are exposed first, and transverse labor cannot be delivered vaginally, but requires a cesarean section to end the pregnancy.
There is also a diagonal birth pattern where the longitudinal axis of the fetus’s body is at an acute angle to the mother’s. The diagonal birth pattern is mostly temporary and usually turns into a longitudinal birth pattern when labor is imminent.
The judgment of the fetal birth style needs to be carried out by a professional doctor. If the examination shows any abnormality, consult the doctor in time and treat it actively so as not to miss the condition.
