80-year-old people infected with Helicobacter pylori can be intervened by general treatment and medication. 1. General treatment: they should eat a light diet and quit smoking and drinking in daily life; they should practice meal sharing to avoid infecting others. 2. Drug treatment: at present, four combinations of drugs are mainly used, i.e. a proton pump inhibitor, a bismuth agent and two antibiotics are applied in combination, such as omeprazole, bismuth pectin with amoxicillin and clarithromycin. After the medication is administered, adverse reactions such as constipation and rash may occur, and prompt medical attention must be sought. Patients are advised to seek timely medical attention and treatment under the guidance of a doctor.
