Reproductive male examination programs generally include semen examination, reproductive organ examination and reproductive endocrine hormone testing. 1. Semen examination: It is the most routine examination in reproductive male medicine, assessing male fertility by checking the quality of semen and sperms, usually including semen volume, liquefaction time, sperm vitality, deformity rate and other examination items. 2. Examination of reproductive organs: testicles, epididymis, spermatic cord and other organs are generally examined. Due to the superficial location of these organs, ultrasound is usually used to observe whether their size and texture are normal, and to screen for diseases with obvious effects on reproduction, such as varicose veins of the spermatic cord and so on. 3. Reproductive endocrine hormone test: including testosterone, follicle-stimulating hormone, prolactin and other hormone levels related to reproduction, in order to assess whether the endocrine level is normal. In addition, relevant genetic tests, such as peripheral blood chromosome karyotype test, are conducted as needed, but generally not as a routine test. For the sake of eugenics, it is recommended to go to a regular hospital for systematic examination and evaluation before pregnancy.
