Bleeding again after intercourse after menstruation may be due to the residual blood in the uterus or vagina just after menstruation, or contact bleeding due to cervical erosion or cervical polyps. This kind of bleeding does not last too long and the amount is not too much, and usually does not last more than three days. If the bleeding is long and heavy, you need to go to the hospital for a specific examination. An internal gynecological examination is performed to check the location of the bleeding and whether it originates from the cervix or the uterine cavity. The thickness of the endometrium is checked by pelvic ultrasound to determine the cycle that the menstruation is in and whether it is ovulatory bleeding. If contact bleeding is caused by cervical erosion or a cervical polyp, vaginal episiotomy or polyp removal is feasible. If it is ovulatory bleeding and the bleeding lasts for too long, symptomatic treatment with hemostatic drugs is available.
