I often hear patients ask what thoracoscopic techniques are in their daily outpatient clinics. How come I have never heard of it? Is it still immature? Can it really replace traditional surgery? Will it be ineffective and so on. In fact, after years of development and improvement abroad, thoracoscopic minimally invasive scoliosis correction technology is already a very mature surgical method! Compared to traditional surgery, thoracoscopic scoliosis orthopedic surgery has less bleeding (average bleeding of 200 ml), less trauma and faster recovery. Traditional posterior orthopedic surgery often requires a 20-30 cm long incision in the patient’s back, which is very traumatic, bleeds a lot, and leaves a very visible scar on the back after surgery, and these children are often no longer able to wear backless evening dresses, whereas patients with thoracoscopic surgery have almost invisible scars after surgery and can still wear beautiful backless dresses.
