What causes eyeball asymmetry?

The causes of eyeball asymmetry usually include strabismus, monocular congenital glaucoma and ocular trauma, etc., which need to be treated in time once detected.
1. Strabismus: It is usually caused by the malfunction of extraocular muscle coordination. When both eyes cannot look at the same object at the same time, it will result in the eyes looking in different directions, which will lead to asymmetry of the eyeballs.
2. Unilateral congenital glaucoma: usually refers to unilateral elevated intraocular pressure, which causes the eyeball to swell and make the affected eyeball larger, and the different sizes of the eyeballs can lead to obvious asymmetry.
3. Eye trauma: If eye trauma leads to fracture of the orbital wall and invagination of the eyeball, it will also be manifested as asymmetry in the position of the eyeball.
Asymmetry of the eyeballs, we should consult the doctor in time to clarify the cause of the disease and then follow the doctor’s instructions for treatment.
