Preparation for patients before and after strabismus surgery

Strabismus surgery still requires hospitalization at our hospital, so both children and adults will be involved in the issue of scheduling. The following answers are given to the most frequently asked questions: 1. The hospital stay is about one week, usually 4-7 days. 2.Hospital bedding, hot water and bathrooms are all available, so please pack lightly. 3.Underage patients under 18 years old must need a legal guardian to sign the consent form for surgery, so please ask at least one parent to accompany them. 4.Adult patients also need to be accompanied during the first two days after surgery, but if the family is very busy, they can hire an escort at the hospital. 5. It takes 5-7 days for the surface wound to grow back, the white part of the eye will turn blood red and stay there for several weeks (4-6 weeks) after surgery, and it takes 3-6 months for the full scar to stabilize. Usually 2 weeks after surgery, you can open your eyes freely, live, attend classes (classes) and use your eyes, but this article varies from person to person, with the exception of those who are overly nervous and “delicate”. 6.The first postoperative review is generally recommended around 6 weeks after surgery. 7.Please make a bed appointment in advance! You can’t expect to be able to “move in with a bag” whenever you come to Xiangya!
