Does a period mean you’re not pregnant?

A normal period means that you are not pregnant. The first sign of pregnancy is the absence of normal menstruation, around six weeks after the cessation of menstruation. Some women also experience early pregnancy reactions, which can vary from nausea and vomiting to drowsiness and fatigue. But we can’t tell if we’re pregnant just because we’re having an early pregnancy reaction. The easiest way is to buy a pregnancy test paper and do a morning urine test at home, if the test paper shows two red bars, it means that you are pregnant. If you want to be sure whether you are pregnant or not, you can also go to the hospital to take a blood test for HCG, because the HCG test is much more accurate than the morning pregnancy test paper. Doing a urine and blood test with a positive result only proves that you are pregnant, but if you want to determine whether it is an intrauterine pregnancy, you also need to do an ultrasound. An ultrasound can usually be done at 6-7 weeks of pregnancy to determine if the pregnancy is intrauterine and to rule out ectopic pregnancy.
