Epiphyseal dysplasia is a rare congenital disease, and there is no effective cure for it. Clinically, arthrodesis, osteotomy and total joint replacement are commonly used. 1. Arthrodesis: If the patient has excessive laxity and instability of the joints, arthrodesis can be used to make the severely diseased joints permanently bony fused to the functional position. However, the movement of the joint will be completely lost after fusion, which will bring difficulties to the patient’s life and work. 2. Osteotomy and orthopedic surgery: If the patient’s long bones are inverted and outverted or curved, osteotomy and orthopedic surgery can be used to treat the deformity. Osteotomies are often performed according to the deformity, and then fixed with steel plates to make the deformed joints into normal physiological angles. 3. Total joint replacement: If the patient has secondary osteoarthritis, which affects normal activities, artificial joint replacement can be adopted to relieve joint pain, correct joint deformity and restore joint function. Epiphyseal dysplasia is difficult to detect in the early stage, patients should go to the hospital for examination in time, and take treatment measures as soon as it is detected.
