The operation process and steps of oxygen tank oxygen intake

The operation process of oxygen tank oxygen absorption is divided into three steps: preparation, oxygen absorption, and stopping oxygen.

1. Preparation: The doctor wears clothes, hat and mask, instructs the patient to prepare for the operation and informs the purpose of the operation, and then prepares a safe and suitable environment. Prepare the following items: oxygen cylinder, treatment bowl, curved disk, oxygen flow meter, humidification bottle, cotton swabs and gauze, disposable oxygen tubing, etc.

2. Oxygen intake: Assist the patient to prepare a comfortable position and clean the nasal passages with cotton swabs. Open the oxygen tank and close it quickly, use the fast airflow to remove the dust from the mouth of the tank. Connect the oxygen flow meter to the oxygen cylinder and use a wrench to ensure that the connection is tight.

Connect the humidification bottle and oxygen tubing to the oxygen flow meter and open the oxygen tank to check for leaks. Turn on the oxygen flow meter and adjust it to the appropriate flow rate according to the patient’s needs.

Test gas and moisten the oxygen tube and place it in the patient’s nasal cavity. Fix it around the back of the ear at the jaw. After the operation, record the oxygen mode, oxygen start time and oxygen flow rate.

3. Oxygen stop: wrapped with gauze, remove the oxygen tube, wipe clean the nose and face. After placing the patient, unload the oxygen meter: turn off the flow switch, unload the humidification bottle, unload the oxygen meter with a wrench, and close the oxygen tank. Record time off oxygen afterward. Organize supplies and wash and disinfect hands.

Precautions: The patient and his/her family should be informed of the purpose of the operation and the precautions to be taken in the process of using oxygen, such as: do not pull out the tube in the middle of the process, do not adjust the oxygen flow meter in the middle of the process, etc., and inform the patient of the purpose of stopping oxygen when stopping oxygen.
