Do you still need a biopsy if the colposcopy is fine?

If there is no obvious abnormality in the appearance of cervical squamous-column junction transformation area under colposcopic observation, biopsy can be dispensed with, but close follow-up is required; if the transformation area is hidden in the cervical canal, and no abnormality is detected on examination, then biopsy and cervical tube scraping and other examinations should be perfected.
The squamocolumnar junction of the cervix is the most common site of cervical cancer. If the transformed area is exposed outside the external cervical os, and there is no obvious acetic acid white epithelium or iodine non-colored area in the tissues under the colposcopic observation, biopsy can be dispensed with, but the patient still has to undergo regular screening for cervical cancer.
If the transformation zone is hidden inside the cervix and the cervical squamous epithelium is seen after exposing the cervix, then biopsy and cervical tube scratching are required to facilitate the detection of intrinsic disease.
For women with abnormalities in cervical cancer screening, it is recommended that they go to a regular hospital in time to complete the relevant examinations and determine whether colposcopy and biopsy are needed under the guidance of the doctor, so as to facilitate early detection of the disease.
