Minimally invasive treatment of lumbar spinal tuberculosis

In recent years, the incidence of lumbar spine tuberculosis has been on the rise. Most patients can be cured with the application of anti-tuberculosis medication. The following conditions require surgical treatment: 1. gradual worsening of symptoms; 2. appearance of neurological symptoms; 3. destruction of bones affecting the stability of the lumbar spine. 4. Huge paravertebral abscesses that do not change or get progressively worse. For huge paravertebral abscesses, most hospitals perform incisional abscess aspiration surgery, which is more traumatic and slower for patients to recover. We implanted a negative pressure drainage tube and a negative pressure drainage bottle percutaneously under the guidance of special instruments, and after continuous drainage, the patient’s huge abscess was treated. The surgery was performed under local anesthesia with an incision of about 5 mm in length, and the operation was safe and reliable. There are no side effects for the patient. It is the latest surgical procedure at present.
