Electroaudiometry does not eliminate tinnitus.
Electroaudiometry is also known as pure tone threshold measurement.
Pure Tone Hearing Threshold Measurement (PTHM) is a standard for determining the hearing sensitivity of the subject’s ear to the lightest sound that can be heard by the subject’s ear to pure tones of different frequencies. When the subject is under the effect of pure tones of different test frequencies, he or she feels the stimulation of the test sound and responds accordingly. When the test sound is eliminated, the sound field environment is restored to tranquility and there is no longer an external sound source to stimulate the body’s response.
Electric audiometry will not stimulate the increase of tinnitus, nor will it have a therapeutic effect on tinnitus. Part of the pure tone test sound, such as the same frequency and loudness as tinnitus, can produce a masking effect, which can temporarily make the auditory center to produce the illusion of the disappearance of tinnitus, but in fact, the tinnitus caused by the primary disease still exists.
When consciously have tinnitus, need to actively seek medical attention, systematic examination and diagnosis, follow the doctor’s instructions standardized treatment.
