Ki67 antigen is a kind of tumor proliferation-related antigen, which only exists in the late G1, S, M and G2 phases, and has a short half-life, which is a reliable indicator for detecting the proliferative activity of tumors.The higher the Ki67 positivity rate is, the higher the proliferative activity of the tumor, the poorer the differentiation, the higher the malignancy, and the more prone to metastasis and recurrence.
The expression of Ki67 needs to be detected by immunohistochemistry, i.e. by immunoreaction of antigen and antibody as well as chemical staining.
The normal value of Ki67 is negative, and the negative and positive thresholds for different tumors are different, with 10% for gastric and cervical cancers and 20% for breast cancer. Different experimental centers and different testing methods will also have different cut-off values.
